| Valencia experiences a hot-summer Mediterranean climate (Köppen climate classification Csa),[20] with Semi-arid climate (BSh) influences. In the coldest month - January - the temperature typically ranges from 10 to 18 °C (50 to 64 °F) during the day, and 2 to 12 °C (36 to 54 °F) at night, with the average sea temperature being between 13–14 °C (55–57 °F). In the warmest month - August - the temperature during the day typically ranges from 28–34 °C (82–93 °F), above 23 °C (73 °F) at night, the average sea temperature is 26 °C (79 °F). Sunshine hours are up to 2,660 per year, from 150 (average 4.8 hours of sunshine / day) in December to 314 (average 10 hours of sunshine / day) in July. Average relative humidity is 60% in April to 68% in August.[21] Average number of days above 21 °C (70 °F) is 200, average number of days above 32 °C (90 °F) is 11 (1 in June, 4 in July, 4 in August and 2 in September).[22] Generally, summer temperatures similar to those experienced in northern Europe last about 8 months (from April to November).
